Daily Bible Quote On Forgiving Others

Colossians 3:13
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

Colossians 3:13 is part of a larger passage in which the Apostle Paul is exhorting the Colossian believers to put off their old sinful nature and put on the new nature that they have in Christ. In this section, St.Paul is emphasizing the importance of unity and love among believers.

The preceding verses (Colossians 3:12-13) provide a list of virtues that believers are to put on, such as compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Then, in verse 13, St.Paul instructs believers to "bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any." This means that believers are to be patient with one another, even when there are disagreements or grievances, and they are to forgive one another, just as Christ forgave them.

The phrase "even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" emphasizes the importance of forgiveness. Christ's forgiveness of believers was complete and undeserved, and St.Paul is calling believers to extend the same kind of forgiveness to one another. This is a key part of maintaining unity and love within the church.

Colossians 3:13 emphasizes the importance of unity and forgiveness within the body of Christ. Believers are called to bear with one another and forgive one another, just as Christ forgave them. This requires patience, humility, and a willingness to extend grace and forgiveness to others, even when it is difficult.
